So you've bought a home after long hours of searching Windsor real estate MLS, now what? Selecting a house for sale in Windsor is only part of the process. Even when that's complete, there are still many more obstacles to go through, but they're all incredibly worth it.

For us, the offer process was stressful as we waited for our offer to purchase our favourite Windsor home for sale to be rejected or accepted. We found offering a bit lower and standing our ground was more effective than offering much lower and hoping the seller would come back with an offer somewhere in the middle. It's important to remember that while you may want that $150,000 Windsor and Essex County home for $100,000, it still is the seller's Windsor property that they put a lot of love and care into. It's insulting to the seller to offer something so low. You also run the risk of the seller not taking you seriously and not wanting to do business with you at all.

Dealing with insurance companies and lawyers was surprisingly painless. Both were more than happy to provide information to aid with the Windsor MLS home-buying process. Don't be shy about calling around for quotes, either. We found an insurance company quoting us $300 less than what we received with the first two companies we contacted.

Hiring a Windsor real estate inspector was a no-brainer for us. For a few hundred dollars, we could rest easy knowing that our house in Windsor was in good condition. Thanks to the inspector, we found a problem with the house that we were able to get the seller to fix before we completed the transaction. For us, it was better to spend a few hundred now than tens of thousands later when something really went wrong.

As for the moving process, packing early was a life-saver for me. Even though you may think you don't have a lot of stuff-you do. Thankfully I started packing many non-essential items weeks in advance so I didn't have to rush around looking for boxes at the last minute. This made the moving process run smoothly. Properly labelling your boxes is a must. It took an extra week to find the second half of our kitchen supplies because I got lazy with labelling near the end.

Overall, The whole process of finding a Windsor Realtor to buying Windsor real estate and eventual Windsor and Essex County home ownership has been great. That's not to say it's been perfect (some ants and a clogged shower on day three can attest to that), but the privacy, freedom, and the knowledge that all of this is yours is just priceless.
